Charity- Cloth Nappies Dippers YES, underpants NO

Well this makes no sence to me. I went to a charirt second hand shop to ask them what I can donate as I am doing a big clean up at home. I was given a list that sais what I can and what I cant give. Well I can give them used cloth nappies (Dippers) but I cant give them underpants (not that I was going to give them that). To me its strange as I would imagine used dippers would pose a greater health risk than underpants. What is your opinion?

People that cloth diaper wash them well, so they aren't unsanitary. I mean I wouldn't eat dinner off of them, but my sons cloth diapers are clean. I've given the smaller ones to a family in need before. But it is weird that you couldn't donate used underwear-but buying underwear here is pretty cheap, cloth diapers cost a bit to start up with-but save in the long run versus disposable diapers.

That is fair enough about the cleaning but at the same time we wash our underpants the same way so to say that one is clean and the other is not is odd.

Hmm. I don't know. That is rather odd. Maybe they were rejecting underpants based more on need than anything else.

no it sais due to health and safety reasons and yess it is very odd. Its not so much that underpants are not taken but that they allow for Cloth Nappies (Dippers) to be donated.

Thats wierd. I would think they wouldnt want either. Wouldnt cloth diapers have marks in them? They are hard to get completly clean. And I would think that would pose a health risk if they were not washed properly. And no offence but if I had to go to a charity I wouldnt get cloth diapers from there anyway. Just sounds gross. ~May The Kisses Of An Angel Cover And Protect You Always~ Copper
