Stamping/craft room - Messy room that really needs cleaning!

Today I am making a special point of cleaning my stamping and craft room. It's gotten to be such a mess because I attempt to go in there and clean and end up sitting down and making a card or starting a project! Do you have jobs that you need to do but get sidelined by something else so they go unfinished?

When a person cleans in a hobby room...it is entirely possible to get sidetracked. I love doing crafts and scrapbooking and end up trying something different or making a fun project. This is called "multi-tasking". I am really a professional "multi-tasker". I clean out a closet...find a pair of pants that needs mending so I fix that, then I am in my sewing drawer and decide to sort everything out in there. In the sewing drawer, I find something that needs to be put into my desk...end up cleaning and sorting in there. Then I realize that I was going to just clean out the closet...so I end up working until late at night trying to finish that. I have a hard time sticking to my initial intention but eventually I get it done. Cleaning in your hobby room is a "fun job" because all of the things that interest you are in there...it is so nice when it is finished. Good luck.

Well I have been keeping aside cleaning the kids room. Discarding the unwanted toys and other stuff. I am postponing it for almost a fortnight's time. I am planning to do it by this week with the help of my daughter.

well you could take someone with you down there to help you stay focused. but also see what you need to purchase (storage wise) and realize that when y ou sort stuff and make a space for each indivual craft (say if you are a card maker - you have a box for stickers, one for stamps, one for paper punches etc) then you will not be wasting time hunting for things later! in the end, it will be worth it!

Do you have jobs that you need to do but get sidelined by something else so they go unfinished? Umm...no...? rofl!! all the time! When I was living with my mom while we built our house, we had a stamp area and we committed to cleaning up when we were done stamping and putting everything away so the table was cleared completely off again. It was a pain to make myself do it- but it was so nice to have it ready and waiting the next time! We didn't do it everytime, I admit, but it made a huge difference. I also started doing that in between cards- everything I'd used for the card got put away and then I would start fresh on a new card...it was nice (and left me with a smaller mess at the end).
