In your area, how do you know spring has finally sprung?

I know that spring is in the air here when I see my first robin, hear the geese honking when they are flying north, and I can open the windows for a few hours in my house. I also now have the trees starting to bud, birds chirping before the sun is up, and the first downpour of rain. So, for you, what are the first signs of spring?

The first thing I noticed this year was the birds singing just before sunup (cardinals distinctive sound) Then it is the crocus and hyacinths popping up and the jonquil daffodils..... today I noticed red buds in bloom as well as jasmine trees. ahhh spring.

It can be hard to tell here sometimes, as we get snow later in the year. But I think it is finally here as the last bit of snow finally melted and I was actually able to turn my heat off for a couple of days in a row. More snow coming this week, but I don't expect it to stick.
