I was raised that the kitchen table was the place to eat and talk about the day,But when I met my husband he don't like sitting at the table and I later found not many people I meet still eat at there tables anymore, like my brother in law and his family get there food and migrate to the front room and watch television while they all eat and no communication is found in that house I was shocked to see that honestly. So do you and your family eat at your kitchen table or eat wherever?

At my parents', we eat round the table in the dining room. It's how it's always been, we almost always eat dinner together. At my house, we don't have a dining table, but we all eat together; we sit in our living room and talk about our days and things. It's definitely a nice thing to do. I'm looking forward to moving house in the summer, as my new house has a dining table that we can all eat round. (I live with friends btw... not that it really makes much difference) People find it unusual but nice that my friends and I share cooking duties, so once a week I cook a meal for me and all my housemates, and we take it in turns. We always eat together, too

You know, the only time we eat at the table as a family, is on holidays. Some of us eat at the table sparatically, but normally we spread out, and eat in our own places. I think its sad that people dont eat together as a family anymore. As we get older, its less important. I do know some families who have younger children, and they still eat at the table, for all meals.

But dinner, lunch and breakfast is the only time where you can actually spend time with your parents/children, (maybe not breakfast because everyone is in a rush) but when do you talk to your family... I know I'm always occupied with my friends or work.. Also how can you eat rice and chicken or a roast dinner on the couch or on your bed?? that's just wrong :)

I was raised the same way and I have continued that with my family. It is important to have that family time.

My son eats in front of the computer! The kitchen table is the only place in the house that I eat.

Definately on the kitchen table... Otherwise it doesn't feel right. I enjoy my dinner a lot more if I'm at the kitchen table. I might have some snacks in my bedroom or in the living room, but always before I eat I set the table, prepare the salad on the side and wait until my food is ready.

Our kids are made to eat at the table but my husband and I usually eat in the living room/den. The older kids will sneak and eat in there with us sometimes too, but the smaller kids ALWAYS at the table :)

i was raised like that too but since i am living on my own, i can eat wherever i want. i prefer to eat in my room sitting in front of the tv. it's just more fun that way because at the same time you can see the show you want to watch and enjoy your food.

I grew up eating in a table too and remember its take time for us to stand since we will end up enjoying our conversations and laughing a lot and its real fun. When I got married and move to my husband's house, same with you, he never like to sit while eating or most of the time we end up bringing our plates in the living room and watch TV while eating!

we pretty much only use the table for holidays, mostly due to the amount of food. my brother and mom prefer to eat in front of the tv while watching the news. as long as they're clean about it,i guess i don't mind.

My family and I still eat at the kitchen table and talk about our day. We still have special occasions where we pull out the tv tables and eat watching tv. We use it as a motivator at times. But for the most part we value our time talking about our day over dinner.

I still eat at the table. In the kitchen if I am by myself or just another person and at the dining room table if there is more. I enjoy that more then eating in the living room!

We still sit at the kitchen table. The TV gets turned off and we all sit down and talk about our day. I know not many people still use it, but I like to get that time in with my family. Life can get so wrapped up in technology and everything else, you kind of have to make a point of spending time together.

i only live with my hubby at the moment... and we eat at the kitchen table sometimes... not all the times... sometimes, i eat in front of the television if there is a programme that i really want to watch... and my hubby eats in front of his computer as usual... but we always communicate before we sleep in the bedroom...

Growing up we were raised to eat at a kitchen table with no TV and just us talking. Since I've grown up, I've moved out of my parents' house however, and I tend to eat using my wheelchair tray in front of the TV. Or, if I'm working, I tend to put my food next to the computer and eat my food with one hand and type with the other. I don't even have a kitchen table in my apartment.

Yes we do still eat at our dining table - that's only because there's a TV there. We'll eat where ever the TV is!

Well it's just me and my husband and yes we still eat at the kitchen table. I mean he doesn't like to all the time, but majority of the time I make him. It's pretty funny though when I tell him that we are going to eat in the bedroom so we can watch a movie together or something of that sort. He gets really excited and at first I didn't know why and then I just asked him and he told me, because when he was younger he never was allowed to. I thought it was funny, but he doesn't mind sitting at the table since he's use to it. I told him we sit at the table so we can talk and he won't be focused on whatever it is that is on T.V. at the time.

Yes,we do eat at our kitchen table! Well, for my family, having dinner is not only filling our stomach, but also a good way to communicate with each other. And sometimes, our dinner could last for more than an hour, actually, there are just 3 dishes, but we spend more time talking! I think that's very important for my family!
