The Olympic Torch Was Here!

The Olympic Torch was here, in San Francisco, yesterday! I was very disappointed that I could not attend, even though I sensed it was too dangerous to join the crowds because of all the protesters! The news I heard told me that the mayor thought twice, and redirected the route the Torch bearer ran, so to ensure being safe and secure while in the city! Do you think this was a wise decision? Will you join the crowd when the Olympic Torch comes to an area near you? Please tell me if you have ever seen the Torch close up?

i'm a chinese,while i havn't seen it to date.if it is in a place near me,surely i won't miss it.anyway,it's a precious opportunity.
neither everyone in the world is so lucky to see the Olympic Torch nor every country is honoured in the list of the olympic torch passing route.

Hi Olivemai, It has already been to the UK and I was not really that interested in it because it has all been marred to much because of the China/Tibet situation but even in 2012 when we host here in UK I won't take that much interest because so much money has been spent by our governmetn and lottery funding for it already which means people and charities are not benfiting how they should be. I think sports are important but not to the detriment of the people living in the host country. Ellie :D
