I agree with the previous posters. Cats and their personalities are very different, as are humans'. But you've got company. My newly-acquired cat, Mimi, isn't especially fond of me. She'll jump on my lap, but will growl and bite me if I pet her --- and I've had her for nearly a year! She'll growl at my other two cats too. I think that ultimately, your cat will learn to accept and like you, only she can't and shouldn't be forced to do so. She'll need plenty of time and love. In the meantime, be gentle with her, tell her how much you love her. Avoid treating her roughly, and leave her alone. She'll come around when you least expect her to! Good luck.

hmm.....were you beside the cat since it was a kitten? Do you rear it? Is it a kitten which you have just bought? Some cats are a little sensitive and it would take some time for it to trust you.Are you sure, that there is no reason{like anger over something which you may have done unintentionally in the past},that it doesnt like you to touch?Does it allow others to touch?I am really sorry to ask such a large amounts of questions, but it would be really easy ,by knowing the answers to these questions. However,I think you can overcome this problem if you take some steps: #When you feed the cat in a bowl stay near the bowl{sit},till it finishes for a couple of days.Avoid trying to touch it for a couple of days #In the next couple of days, dont take your hand from near the bowl, and keep it there caually. #In the next day,try stroking it slowly when it eats. If it gets frightened and goes away, dont go after it. I think if you take these steps,I think you can get over your problem. Cheers ! Hoping to get a positive response that you and your cats have become inseparable.

Hi seallove, All cats are not alike, it seems that some just don't like for people to hold them. Usually though, cats will respond if you talk to them softly. Don't talk loud, but low and show kindness. They know when people love them. I'd also like to wecome you to myLot and hope you will enjoy it here. Blessings.
