Yeh I know what you mean but I have actually been thinking of getting them for one of my rooms only because I can adjust the slats so the house next door cant seein but still have the blids open...for privacy I feel they are probably my best option.

They are good for privacy i have to agree and they can look good .Have you thought of timber ones they dont seem to get as dirty and the slats are wider so easier to clean

cleaning them is the worst they say dust them every day but they still get dirty ,just by the fact that they hang at the windows and collect the dust from outside if you open your window

Venetian blinds, or at least the older style ones, are just as bad as louvres. Maybe they are worse in fact and I will not have them in my place. :)
