Well, are you frustrated or angry when you get less number of responses to a discussion which you have started? On what all reasons do you think, the number of responses you get for a discussion depends?Does it depend on having a lot of friends?Or should I make the question short?

i feel bad. actually it depends on so many things. its also very unpredictable. it may be that you have lot of active friends who respond to you. may be your discussion is so much appeling that many can relate to it and answer you.But you get less response when you start serious ones.

Yea,I think it should be because of that.It seems people, prefer the ones which are casual and say more without taking too much strain and thinking. Thanks for responding. Cheers ! Have a nice day.

I am experiencing the same problem. I started 2 discussions this week that I considered thought provoking, and even gave some people an excuse to show off their knowledge, and in 5 days NO ONE has responded to them. However I see a lot of replies to discussions with silly topics that couldn't POSSIBLY promote creative thinking. It's disappointing but I guess you just keep trying until you hit one that everyone likes. My advice though- I noticed that people seem to like to respond to discussions where they have an excuse to talk about themselves. Be it "should I cut my hair short and what does your hair look like?" or "What's your favorite color and why?" or " how did you come up with your avatar?", ANY excuse for people to talk about themselves brings a lot of responses. So if a lot of responses is what you're looking for then that's your ticket. :) I, however, will try and stick to things that at least generate some kind of lively discussion that isn't based on things like " Ludacris is HAWT! what do you think?!" Have a nice day 98765m :)

I surely agree with you. But,I think I wont change my question to get responses.I think I would be happier to a discussion with 2 responses with thought provoking questions than the others. Thanks for responding and sharing your views.I hope you get many responses to your discussions.Have a nice day. Cheers!

There are definitely some strategies for getting more responses to your discussions. I think it is a bit like the real world.... make friends, treat them as you would like to be treated(respond to their discusiions, etc.) and always to your best. Eventually it all works itself out. Don't worry too much about the numbers. Enjoy yourself here.
