Since fees increase and many changes policy (which seems makes sellers unhappy) i just wondering if there is still many of you selling on ebay and why? U see there is so many other online site market beside ebay such as: - plunderhere - tazbar - ecrater - etsy - etc... i personally feels so difficult and hard to sell on ebay. Just imagine as new seller with still low feedback i already have to pay high fees and could be as one who got payment hold by PayPal (for 21 days!) its to much for me, i need funds to pay shipping cost so there is no way i would send the items before i received the payment

I was selling some products on ebay 2 years ago. Honestly i did not make any profit on ebay. Because if you compare your profit with ebay fees of unsold items then you earn nothing. I can say i went in lose while selling on ebay. So i did not touch ebay anymore after this experience. I did not noticed that ebay fees has been increased. If it has been increased then you should just stop selling on ebay if you are in lose.

GEESH. I hate ebay now. I had all of my listings taken down once because of I supposedly violated one of their rules. I was never told what I did wrong. If they told me what I was doing wrong I would have simply fixed it. They should have taken down the one item that broke their rules not all of my items. Then they blocked me from selling asking for me to reinstate my account. It has been over 3 months since I sent in my reinstatement request and they still have not reviewed my request to sell again. They have the dumbest service ever. You can only contact ebay trust and safety which are the people who control the reinstatement thing I am doing right now trough email. There is no live support to get help from the trust and safety and you cannot even get help from the phone with them. So when you contact them trough email they copay and paste junk into it so they never actually help you out the way you want it. Everything I might have just mentioned might be confusing but in other words I would have to say ebay sucks and they have the worst support ever.

However ebay remains at the time of writing the auction site with all the activity. As to the customer service in the UK it is BS as its email only and consistently they take 2 days to reply and even then the reply is irrelevant to the question you asked!! However I go onto ebay.com and they have a live person type chat thing which is like a breath of fresh air compared with how we are treated here, and the advisors are always polite and helpful. If you want to take a lil chunk out of ebay's profits when you buy on there check this out: http://tinyurl.com/3phapg Sure makes me feel better lol Simon :-)

I haven't sold on Ebay for a long time. As I have to pay for it even if I haven't sold anything yet. I don't like it at all. Besides, it seems it's so complicated to sell on Ebay and I can't have a software to talk with the buyers. Therefore, I like to sell on Taobao which is similar with Ebay, but I think it's better than Ebay.

Here in Australia loads of people are moving to "Oztion"from Ebay and ther's more everyday.I have to claer so much I cnn't list hundreds of items on Ebay and pay those kind of fees to only sell a small amount, and all the money is gone to them for the unsolds. There are so many cheaper sites now.People want to by things cheap and you cann't aford to be cheap anymore on Ebay. Also I think buyers (at least out here) are starting to work out it's cheaper on sites like Oztion. as we donn't have to try to cover the outrageous fees.

I buy and sell on Ebay and craigslist. There are advantages of both. I have been buying and selling on ebay since 2000 and my feedback is like 413.

I no longer sell on ebay due to the fees. By the time I do everything I don't come out very good money wise so I don't waste my time. I use craigslist a lot more now.

How is craigslist going? I have heard more than one time that it's a better way to sell than ebay but surely ebay gets more hits to a sale? Maybe I'm wrong. Ebay buying on the other hand is cheaper when you get cashback ;-) Have a look at this, it might make up for the cost of selling lol http://tinyurl.com/3phapg Let me know about craigslist :-) Simon.

I am selling on there now. I agree it is a lot more then it use to be. I am selling a Dean Koontz book. I think I will look up the list you have to see how they work.

Having been both a buyer and a seller on eBay for a number of years I have seen the selling fees go steadily up and up, to a point where I am wondering if it is really worth bothering any more. However, by taking advantage of the cheap listing days I can at least list up a few items for a reasonable price. It is getting harder to sell on eBay these days too, sales are down while fees are up, and I suspect there will come a time when it won't be viable soon

I am thinking of selling some things on ebay. I have not sold anything in months. I am greatly dissapointed with ebay though, I think of them like greedy little monsters that love to compete with themselves to beat last years profits and who cares about the little people that help us get to where we are. I think they are losing a lot of business and I hope they recognize that. Will I am sure they do but maybe dont' really care as they seem to find ways to make up the difference. I wonder where all those billions go? I am considering selling on a different site but which one I don't know yet. Do you know of a site that has a good reputation for protecting members. You mentioned Paypal. Did you know ebay bought paypal? Yah not only that sometimes the fees for paypal are higher then the item you list and sell on ebay. So these people double their earnings on our sale while we lose a lot of would be profit. Yah maybe I won't be selling on ebay.

Not really. Not anymore...the fees have priced me out of many of the items we sold on Ebay.I never sold my craft creations because Ebay was too much of a gamble, so I found Etsy and that's where my craft items sell. We also sold toys and sports cards/memorabilia on Ebay, but only list on the discount days. Now that spring is here, if we go to garage/yard sales and come across an item that we know could sell on Ebay ofr a large profit, we'd consider Ebay, but right now, we are just looking for bargains on Ebay as buyers (and enjoying our cash back incentives!)

I know what you mean! I've sold and bought on ebay in the past, however, I only list there items that I'm positive are going to sell. I've begun using webizs which is free and lets you have an unlimited number of listings and will relist them for no charge. It doesn't have as much traffic as e-bay, but its free so I'm trying that for now. Between e-bay fees, relisting fees, paypal fees, its really not worth it! Let me know if you have any luck on your other sites.

Not only no but HELL no. I haven't sold OR bought anything on greedbay since the middle of February. I was selling on loudfrog for a while.. but have taken a hiatus from selling on any site . I refuse to buy, because I know that the seller will more than likely LOSE more money than they make. All of the rest of the policy changes have made it difficult at best to make a profit. It is hard for me to enjoy something when the company makes it so damn hard on the people that make its money. NOT the buyers.. but the sellers.. I wish ALL sellers would go to another venue. Without sellers, there are no buyers.. without buyers there are no sellers.. without sellers there is no money to be made.. with no money to be made there is no more greedbay. I hope they go belly up!!

The advantage of eBay is its vast network throughout the world. And most popular of course.
