Hello,Dreams! Sleep is a natural healer. It is a remedy for many maladies.disturbed sleep can be hazardous.sleeplessness may contribute to forgetfulness, fatigue, and other diseases.therefore don't missout on sleep and don't economise either.one must sleep at least 7/8 hours, elderly people require 5 hours of good sleep, soft were professionals require maximum sleep of eight hours,as the spend most hours in front of p.c.screen and this effects their eyes.which in turn leads to headache, and other problems.similarly working professionals require more sleep as they have to remain alert and focused to optimise their performance.the sleep hours should be minimum6/7.and the media professionals must have minimum5/6 ours of sleep to have a healthy mind and tireless body. so you decide to which category category you belong and do the needfuls to remain yourself fit.thank you.

First of all the average amount of sleep per day depends on your age. For young babies about 16 hours. Then for 5 year old 12 hours. Then onwards 8 hours is the recommended. Also sleeping a lot can make you put on more weight as you use only a very small amount of energy. Too much sleep can bring about laziness. However, sleeping is the one of the most important things in your daily life. Sleeping is the only way to relax after a days work which relieves stress and also a cure to many sickness.

I think it depends on the individual. I can often sleep quite a lot and I think it my body telling me that I have been working too hard and I need a rest. Obviously babies sleep a lot because they are doing an awful lot of growing, so they need their rest. Likewise teenagers tend to sleep quite a lot, their bodies are changing, they are ofte suffering quite a lot of stress with school, and so they need to rest too. I have heard it said that have a "cat-nap" of about ten minutes during the day can be the equivalent of about an hour of sleep at night. I'm not sure if this is true as I have never had the opportunity to nap during the day. I think it also depends on how deeply you sleep. We are told to get a minimum of 7-8 hours of sleep at night, but if we are woken up during the night, we obviously don't get the benefit of a full night of uninterrupted sleep. Listen to your body, it knows what it needs.
