I have changed my vacation plans. I like to storm chase in May but this month it has been only of there are storms nearby or If it looks like there will be a good chance for tornadoes. I have the whole month off and only been out twice. I am going a little stir crazy but with the price of gas it is just to difficult to just go out anytime. It is getting very frustrating. high gas prices high food prices ARGH!!!

Well, it is effecting the decisions we are deciding on whether we want to do anything this Summer, and if we can afford to do so. But gas prices are making a big impact on things for sure. When you live in an area that is one of the higher places for gas it becomes hard to where you cringe each time you see the prices increase.

I wasn't going to have a summer vacation, so it won't affect mine. I might go a couple hours away to visit family, but I might share the ride with someone so we can split the cost of gas.

I think I will deffinately be sticking cloer to home this summer, and maybe relying on public transportation a little more. It takes longer, but I can actually get to the beach for about $1.75 on the subway, and I won't have to worry about parking. There are also some nice parks and forests near me that we can go to. Thankfully my boyfriend and I like to hike so that's a pretty cheap summer outing. I think we will be spending a lot of time near home for the most part though...or perhaps car pooling with friends if we all want to go somewhere a little farther.

Gas prices aren't going to put a damper on things we want to do. If travel or vacation is something someone wants to do, they will budget for it and find a way. It might not be as far or as long but if people want to go on vacation, they will find a way. I know I will. Travel is one of the things we enjoy the most. We have managed our money well and can budget for the gas prices. Where there's a will - there's a way. At least for us......

The high gas prices has made us plan our consumption of gas in our day today life. but i dont think it has affected us to the extent of rethinking our summer vacation.

I think the high gas prices are definately going to have an effect on my travel plans this summer. Last summer I bought a new car that has really great fuel economy in hopes to keeping a little bit ahead of the rising prices. The problem is that things just keep going up. Before a little day trip to the shore might have cost about $15 in gas and now it can cost twice that much. That extra money spent could have been a meal out or a trip to the movies. I can't even think about how the high fuel prices might effect the prices of plane or train tickets as well. Call me cheap or whatever, but I think I would rather hang on my deck with some nice music and snacks than spend most of my vacation budget just getting to my vacation location. I know that I am still going to take a few trips around the area, but not nearly as many.
