When I think of summer I like to think of coconuts and pineapples. I think it is because the smells remind me of summer holidays abroad. I find that sun tan lotion or aftersun often smells of coconut, and I love to order cocktails which have pineapple in whenever I am away on holiday / vacation.

That's great. I didn't know that suntan lotion smell that way but I also think of coconut trees because they are usually found in beach resorts. Have you ever been to the Philippines?

I can think of many other things which are available here in india. I do not know about your place if you get them or not.
Tender coconuts, buttermilk, sugarcane juice, watermelons, musk melons and all other kinds of juices. After you have drunk the juice from the tendercoconuts have you ever eaten the very thin flesh inside the shell. Add a little sugar to that and eat it. It is yyuuummmmmyyyy. I love it. It has got a very cooling effect also in summer.

We have tender coconuts too. I love young coconut juice. We also make fruit or buko salad for the coconut meat.
And thank you very much for reminding me of sugarcane juice. I never had one for years now, maybe even a decade. We used to have sugarcanes when we were in Manila. I really miss sugarcane juice. Now I will ask around if they have some available here. I love its sweet taste.

I think of swimming pools and watermelon I know weird combination but those are what comes to mind when I think of summer.

Hi there minnie! Well, I think that I just don't think of it anymore because I see one everyday in my Uncle's beach resort. I fully understand both, but not the combination, lol. I think that watermelon is a really juicy and delicious fruit. I love the smell too. I love dipping it in vinegar. Thank you very much for your response.

I actually drink more coffee when it's hot. For some reason it cools me down LOL I do like ice=cream though on hot days haha!

Wow, that's quite unique. I haven't heard of someone who likes coffee when it's hot. Unless it's iced coffee.

samalamig, iced water,ice cream as in banana floats, water melon , avocado shakes or mango shakes, a pail of water being splashed by my playmates on me-to relieve me of hot weather

Hi there asawanialvin!I like samalamig too! Especially the pink one and melon juice. My mother always warn me about buying those drinks in the streets so I don't buy them that much. But I love Chowking's red gulaman drink. I love shakes too.
Splashing waters sounds great and fun too.

hmm, nai cha! yummy.. we've been forcing our niece to make ice candies everyday then we buy from her.. i also love buko salad and melon juices.. but if i have a choice, i'll be sipping green mango shake all summer.. though i'm suffering from soar throat now, i ate ice cream earlier - cookies and cream, rum & raisin, and brazo mercedes.. yum,

Hi there posham! That's really funny, but good for your niece. At least, she's earning money during the summer. Sure source of income since the customers are already asking for it before she make them. I like melon juice too.
My mother likes green mango shake alot eversince she had a first taste of it in a company outing when they ate at Barrio Fiesta.
I like cookies and cream and brazo de mercedes too.

Halo-halo, ice candies, ice buko, popsicle, and twin popsies came to my mind during summer. Beaches and kites are also very cool during summer. Summer is a bit different this year. There is La Nina, cool water from sky.
