Best way of saying sorry?

Make sure that when you apologize, you explain why you are sorry. It is important to a person who has been wronged to know that you understand why s/he is upset. Also, make sure to be sincere about it. No one wants a forced or not meaningful apology. What is the best way to say you are sorry to a : * Friend * Gf/bf * Parents * Family members * Strangers. Do you think 'sorry' is an adequate apology? Is it important for you if someone tells you they are sorry?

The way i say sorry is through giving back a good effort or doing something that can impress them and give them a straight hug

To apologize should mean more then the sometimes simple but empty word sorry.When I have hurt someone I hurt also.So when I say I am sorry I mean the words and say them from my heart.I can tell when someone is really sorry and being honest about their feelings.
