What are All You Baby Boomers Doing?

WOW! Life creeps up really fast! Last time I looked, my kids were in diapers. Now, empty-nesters, my kids are all grown with kids of their own. Life was so good when the kids were growing up, we would never get old - ( I still believe "old" is a state of mind) we still want to do the limbo, still want to dance wildly and throw our arms up in the air to the tunes of "Y M C A" and "Louie, Louie". We still want to travel to the Caribbean every year and - we still have very good health - Thank You, God! We still want to do all these with our six children and fourteen grand-kids. Many of us are blooming across life stages. Younger boomers are in the throes of careers and commuting, of kids and of education costs...But early boomers from the late 1940's, many of us have had or have unrealistic expectations about retirement and probably regret not doing more to prepare for it. So, I ask you: If money were no issue, how would you spend your time? Would you continue what you're doing? Would you still be dancing? Would you still be traveling? What types of activities would you participate in and who would you participate with? Are you still doing this, and if not, what is holding you back? I want to say "Thank You" in advance. There are a lot of you out there, and I look forward to hearing from ALL of you.

I actually am enjoying my "golden years". I am traveling because my kids don't live around here. Both my daughters married military men. But you are right....old is a state of mind. And if money was not an issue I'd probably be doing the same things I am doing now. But since the kids left I have developed my own life that included reaching for my dreams! I now have the time to do the things I want to do. There would be one thing I would do if I had more money. I would buy a cabin in the woods on a lake or stream. That is the only thing I would do different.

Thanks for replying. Sounds like you really are fulfilled. Keep your eye's mind on that "cabin in the woods". It just might happen! Blessings!

Well If money was no issue I would be traveling. I love to see new places.I have always wanted to go to an island somewhere, Jamaica, Bahamas, etc. Never have been able too. I would love to take a cruise.Love to go outside the U.S.A.Yes, I would still be dancing and having a great time. But I have been disabled for 22 years. I am living on social security and making it from month to month. Never any money to travel.

Thanks for replying. My heart sank when I read your post. My husband and I have been blessed with good health and although we are very grateful, I think we still sometimes take it for granted. There are so many opportunities available, maybe there is something you can do from home to earn some travel money. You sound like you have so much living to do. So many people die with their music still in them, don't let it happen to you. Blessings.
