Why do customers do their shopping when....

April 11, 2008 4:06pm CST
the store is near closing time??? Working as cashier in a supermarket, I have found that loads of customers come in and do their shopping 15 mins before the store closes. Tonight I had to turnaway a customer as she came in at closing time. Then they moan that there is only one cashier on (me), what do they expect!! Its annoying how they only come in for a few items (mainly beer/alcohol). Does anyone else pop to the shops near closing time???

When I was working the only chance I got to shop was at the end of the working day so I usually had no choice but to shop late. Many people must have the same problem, they can't always get to the shops during the working day so the only choice they have is to shop after work.

I can understand that peopel do work but we close at 8 mon-sat so that gives the majority of those who work time to go a home and get changed and then come shopping!!!
