Well, last night at work, I was told that they would like to see me back in the office. I immedietly thought something was wrong, and that I was going to get a DDay (it's a decision day, and you get a paid day off and have to write a letter about why you think you value your job.) I was stressing about it all night until they actually called me back there. They told me to come inside, shut the door and sit down. I told them no, I am not sitting down, why am I getting a DDay, I didn't even do anything! The two members of management just looked at me and said, "Your not". I didn't believe them though, because they never call you to the office and have you shut the door with two members of management in there, unless you've done something wrong. So I just continued to tell them they were lying. The one manager was like, "We just want to discuss your new pay rate!". I immedietly shut up, lol, I felt so silly. Oh well, turns out I got a 20 cent raise. It worked out though, because last night turned out to be my 1 year anniversary with the company, so I also got 40 cents on top of the 20 for my yearly raise. This will help me with my bills at home. Walmart has raised it's minimum wage to 8.00 an hour. I'm not sure if they've done it with all Walmarts, but I know all the ones in my area have done it. My boyfriend works at one here in our town, and I work at one a town over. He will soon find out what his raise is going to be, but it will probably only be 20 cents as well. A friend of mine, that's worked for the company just as long as my boyfriend, only got 20 cents also. Have you gotten a raise at work lately? Or do you have a funny story to tell about work?

congrats with ur raise! Next time don't be so negative about coming into 'the boss' office' my dat is the boss in the office and he does that sometimes just for fun. People are sweating when they come inside afraid that they done something wrong and he just tells them then that he needs his answer if he will come to a meeting somewere. LOL

I don't have a funny story to tell about getting a raise at work, but I do have a question, why would you get mad about a DDay? From your explanation, it sound like a hyped up MyLot. You are getting paid a whole days work for writing some silly paper that you can dress up any way you like. I would be happy to get a DDay for real!!!

Well, upon getting a DDay, at any point that something goes wrong, you can be fired on the spot for it. You have to go a whole year without doing anything wrong at all, before it goes away and then you can finally go to work without worrying about losing your job. My mom is currently working on a DDay, and I don't know what she would do if she lost her job.

Hmm, that does make things sticky. I probably still would like a DDay, because I usually don't do anything wrong at work, not intentionally anyway. They could probably get me for being late, but then again I ride the bus, so I could always blame it on that. I love being early anyway. I guess a DDay isn't such a good thing if you have to walk on egg shells for a year.

Congratulations on your raise. I hope you will get more in the future. I am also happy when I get a raise or a promotion. I think it is always nice feeling to get a promotion or raise or get additional incentives.
