How often do you shut down your computer?

I use computer almst 10 hours a day. So i shut down my computer 4 or 5 times a day. Because i have to go to gym' for dinner' lunch and go to my sister's home. Therefore i need to shut down my computer. Electricity is also problem in my country so i also need to shut down my computer because of load shedding.

this is misconcept that it will burn out if u keep it on whole day .many home users host website from their home by keeping on pcs day by day .you should use linux for greater perfomance of ur pc

Hello alangardner, no I usually don't turn my out because I have a program on the computer that monitors the calls we get via our phone line and blocks various numbers. I will usually keep it on, and I sometimes will put it on hibernate...my one desktop is from 2001 and my other desktop is from 2005, so they are still going and I don't think it damages them to keep them on. Its actually bad for your computer to be turning it off and on constantly. It burns more electricity too to be turning it on and off. I usually leave my computer on constantly and restart it when needed. Doesn't your computer have a sleep mode? I use that when I am not actually using my computer
