Sodom and Gomorrah Destroyed by an Asteroid?

I just happened to come across this article this morning from FOXNews.com

I thought it was really interesting that they found that an asteroid could be what hit and destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, also if you look at the Bible Passage (Genesis 19) there is nothing that would argue with this point. In fact it completely agrees with it. It says that "Fire and brimstone fell from the sky destroying everything in the city and the plains." The angels also tell Lot and his family to flee for the mountains or they will be destroyed
According to the article there are over 20 (mythological and real) accounts of something of this sort happening.
I thought it was cool - what about you?

hmm.that's an interesting take on that.
i suppose it could be possible.hadn't thought of an asteroid collision.

i read it and i was not only happy but also refreshed by the feeling that the book we read is the best and also it helps us believe in the harmony it creates with science, thank u,this is asmack in the face for bible critics.
