How to get the Most From MyLot

United States
April 12, 2008 8:59pm CST
There are a few people that have expressed that they just simply can't earn from MyLot. They say that you must have to have a million referrals, stay on here 24 hours a day, and post fifty million times each day in order to get something from here. I've always looked at this in awe, because after a learning curve of nine months, I have been able to earn pretty consistently. I never did like being the only one knowing what I was doing, so I put all the tips that I could think of in an article, How to get the Most From MyLot. I posted it on Helium, and I need a little feedback. Here's the link: http://www.helium.com/items/994426-mylotcomby-kenya-stallworth-drknlvly6781two Read it, and get back to me. Did I leave anything out? I have one leapfrog to edit with here, so I want to get as much feedback as possible. Let me know if it helped you, if you learned anything that you didn't know before about MyLot, any feedback is requested, desired, and appreciated!!!

Well I read through it. Some of it was very good but the first part with registering seemed a bit over much. It was a little too detailed and long. I found it very boring and hard to get through to find out the meat and potatoes of it once I am a member. The rest was very good and I think it could be beneficial to new members.

That was my thought as well. If they need that much help in registering and setting up they probably won't bother with doing it let alone staying on mylot long enough to earn money.

Well I'm always honest. That sometimes gets me into trouble but I will be honest. I'd suggest instead put in the basics of registering but then put the info on avatar, profile and such separate. Put it at the end as optional to do or even do a separate piece on how to spruce up your profile. That way they don't get bogged down in that part and get to the meat of earning on here. Hope that helps.

I am glad that I got some honesty here. I know you are my friends, but just telling me its good isn't really helping the people that I am targeting, you know. I got so into the process of registering because I see many people here that have been here for a while, that have many posts, but they still haven't chosen an avatar. A lot of this site is really branding if you think about it. I recognize when you guys have done something off the bat, because I recognize your avatar, or your screen name, and I tend to pay attention more when I see the ones I recognize. I felt that there are a lot of people were missing the point on that, and I wanted to make sure that they knew what they were missing out on. So emerald, gifts, what do I need to do to cut the fat here?

I skimmed through the article and it's definitely useful for a beginner, especially helping them to register with the site. Do you think you could of shortened it and bullet pointed the registering bit? That was quite lengthy but then again it is very detailed so bullet pointing it might lose the meaning of what you were trying to say. What I would mention also is referring the users to the mylot guidelines so they know what is allowed and what isn't. That is something all users should read after registering. Otherwise pretty good!

That could be done. I really just wanted to get my ideas on paper (virtual paper anyway) and get it out there so I could get some feed back. I did forget all about the TOS, thank you for reminding me, it will be in the rewrite.

You wrote a lot of great tips about mylot. Even I myself can use some of these. I try to write 4 lines to my replies in here. Sometimes though I have a hard time thinking of what to say in my replies.

That is very true. After I read my friends discussions I go back to mylot and search discussions that I want to respnd to. It makes things so easy that way.

We all do at times Shaun, even with discussions that are in our interests. That is why its good to stay within your interests. Think how hard a time you would have trying to come up with four lines to a discussion that you aren't interested in!

Wow, I just read your artical on helium. You did a really good job putting all that information together.I thought it was really useful info. Some of the stuff I didn't even know.I think the most useful info for me was with the discussion. you basicaly tought me how to write, respond and even tag them. Now when it comes to referrals I have a problem with them.I don't have any friends.I know that seems hard to grasp but it's true.I have had to change everything about my life and that includes friends. So I guess that will come in time. But again you did a really nice job putting all that together.lol :)

Thank you very much for your adulation!!! I am striving to help a lot of people with this article. As far as getting referrals, there are other ways you can do that without contacting people you know. I think I will be doing an article on that next.

Hello there, I see that you have properly enumerated all the important details for us newbies here in Mylot. Thank you very much for the concern, but earn or not, just the thought of I have met new friends is a very good reward already.

I am very glad that you have found that reward. That is something that you really can't teach a newbie about MyLot. When a person joins, either they see the value in meeting people across the world, or they don't.

Very well written, Kendra. I learned a couple new things and some of the things written I've already managed to learn. I do notice that if I comment on news articles, my earnings seem to be larger. I comment on the news articles anyways, then I dont worry about taking the time to watch the news or read the paper. You did a great write up. One thing I've noticed is that it doesnt matter how many times I tell someone that a response to earn off of should be at least 3-4 lines-- they don't listen! So I hope this gets the message out there.

PLEASE do not call me Kendra!!! My name is Kenya, like the country. I am not mad for real, I just hate when people call me that, and a lot of people have. I really hope this gets the message out about the four lines too. I get tired of coming to my discussions and finding one line or even one word responses. Like when I started this discussion about reaching payout early in the month, someone responded with "OMG!!!", nothing else. Please, you could have kept that!!! I wrote this article for people at all stages of experience at MyLot, but when I do the rewrite, I will put in a few more subtitles, and a table of contents, so people can skip around to the parts that they need specifically.

well, at first time here, i don't know what to do to earn money. so i only post 2 coments and leave. after 2 days i checked my account and i found out that i earned $0.02. i talk to mysel and say i will make money on this site. so from that time i post comment and discussions although limited english but i tried so i did it. later on i am addicted to post my ideas in here. i am more and more active everyday until i reached the minimum payout. 2 weeks later i received credits to my paypal account from mylot. i am so very happy and now near to reached my second payout i need to earn $1.56 to qualify. i learned a lot in here, first my english now is improved and i made 100 post in a single day. before i can't i'm running out of ideas to share. i meet many friends here that joined me on my other programs. mylot is the best. the first ever site that credit me $12.04 on my paypal account.

thank you very much kenya, i was looking for friend just like you. it was really a nice experience reading your website review. i have joined mylot just a couple of days before. i am being active now. i was wondering how to go about when i joined the site. i felt the site not appealing at all after using sites like orkut. but after continuous usage of 10 days or so, i am slowly getting hang of it. initially i was skeptical with regard to the payment of money. after reading a lot of posts, i just came to know that they are paying the members according to their participation. once again thanks for giving such a wonderful information. and accept me as a friend.

Wow, that is a really thorough article. That covers a lot of ground that complete newbies don't know and people like me (somewhat more experienced newbies) are working on. The tip about four lines is always interesting to see, and I have seen different amounts of lines suggested, from four to eight, or even ten.

That was the goal when I wrote this. I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to gain attention for the old discussion and article when I wrote the new one lol. What I am looking to be reviewed is the rewrite of the article, under the second link in the discussion you came from. If you don't mind, please read and review that one? Thanks in advance.

I read your article on Helium, the registering process probably seemed long to us who already members of mylot but for a person who never been on here before it would be very helpful. I read through the whole article and did things that you mentioned to do, and I would like to say that from reading your article and putting into action some of your suggestions that yesterday was my highest day in earnings that I have had since I have started. So I am a clear example that your tips really do work. Thanks for all the info.

Thank you very much for trying out my tips, and I am very glad that I was able to help you with my knowledge. You got me eggplanting over here (Like Oprah said, us dark-skinned folks don't blush, we eggplant lmao!) You are right about the beginning now that I think about it. A couple of people said it was too long, but these were both seniors of the site. (No offense you guys, I still appreciate the review!!) I still want to make sure that it flows a little smoother the next time. Also, I will be looking into if I can make some links in the article, so people can skip around to what they need to know. At the very least I am going to put a table of contents at the top, so people can manually skip around. I will post a discussion that will have the same title as this one, with the word update added, so be on the look out!!!

It's a good article for people that are still in the forest. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and next time write an article about "How To Increase Your myLot Earnings The Easy Way."About Some of the trade secrets some of us myLotters might still be in the dark about."LoL"

Even with me being a senior, someone would have to enlighten me about these "trade secrets" lol. Everything I know is in that article, and that is the only way I know how to earn here. So if you have heard some secrets, don't hesitate to tell me lol.

You seem to have gotten this down to a science. Awesome article. I have been away from mylot for a couple of months and really needed the refresher course. You have some great tips in there. I'm still trying to get back into my routine and I think that reading your article has given me that little push that I've been needing. Thanks!

You're very welcome and I am very glad to help!!! You are one of the target audiences I was going after when I wrote this article. I will be streamlining it a little to make it more readable, but you have the basics right then and there. I will add you as a friend at some point, as I always do with my discussions, but keep an eye out because I will post another discussion once I get the rewrite done!!!

I do believe this was well written, and I agree that the registration part was a little winded but I guess for new people, necessary. Although when I signed up I didn't have much of a time getting through it. I have made a respective amount since joining. I like to write a lot and comment a lot. Thanks for the tip on responding to comments as opposed to the discussion itself. That is useful as is the 4 line tip. I tend to write a lot anyway so I don't think I've have much problem with the 4 lines. But all in all it is helpful. Thanks!
