Americans, want a free donut?

Has anyone else seen the commercials on TV from Dunkin Donuts? They said on April 15th, tax day, if you come in and buy any size coffee, you can have a free donut. I don't know anything about tax day for other countries, so I'm assuming it is a U.S. thing only? I love Dunkin Donuts, but I don't drink coffee. Anyone thinking of going? Are you even tempted? And does anyone know if there are Dunkin Donuts outside of the U.S.?

Ambie, you were the one to post about the free taco deal last year, (which I missed
)... Where do you find these freebies? There is no Dunkin Donut near us, so I won't be getting one, but if I could I would, especially if I could pick out any donut they had..

Yeah, I think the closest one to us is about the same, 40-45 miles away and not worth the fuel to get there..

Hi Spookybutt,
I haven't heard of Dunkin Donuts in Australia, but there are a few donut franchises around the place, so they might be here somewhere.
I have to say, I wouldn't really be able to get enthused about going to Dunkin Donuts to get a free donut, unless it was already part of my habitual coffee-crawling agenda.
You might persuade a coffee freak to accompany you to Dunkin Donuts, buy two coffees, get two donuts, your friend chug down the coffees and you scoff the donuts - win-win situation!
Or take along two dozen coffee addicts, and let them satiate their inordinate caffeine cravings while you pig out on dozens of free donuts. Now THAT's starting to sound like a viable proposition!
The most remarkable thing about the donuts joints, to me, is the donut making machine. What a marvel of ingenuity and creativity! Fully automated production of piping hot, cinnamon coated donuts, complete with the requisite hole. It's almost worth going to the donut place just to ogle that process. Eating the output would, of course, make the experience more wholesome and memorable.

It wouldn't be worth it for me to drive 15 miles to the nearest Dunkin Donuts to get a free donut. I like them, but I don't need them that bad. Sometimes my husband brings me home a donut from work, as some companies they do work for will bring in donuts in appreciation for a job they did. That's always a surprise treat. The last time I actually bought donuts, I had a half off coupon, and they were still really expensive, so I'll have to want a donut really bad before I buy one.

april 15th is the day your income taxes are due...it's a big hoorah, but I don't understand why. I sent my taxes in back in february - our refund is already long gone (we used ours to pay off our debts)
the free donut is a nice idea, but i don't think it's enough to get me to go there. it is a good way of dunkin donuts thanking their loyal customers though.

Dunkin Donuts is the the world's largest coffee and baked goods chain.
So yes we have them in canada,
no we don't have tax day per se, the deadline to file our taxes is April 30th.

Wow, AmbiePam, I didn't see that on TV. Well, considering it's a few days away I may go there for breakfast. I love coffee, and why not get a free donut as well? I'm going to talk about it to my father so we can go together, won't that be cool?
Hm, I don't remember if there were Dukin Donuts in Mexico or Spain...but I am sure if you go on their website then it will tell you all where they're located, right?

No, I didn't know Dunkin Donuts was doing that. Would you believe that there is a Dunkin Donuts about two blocks away right next to Taco Bell. Thanks for letting me know. I do like there coffee and I know my hubby would want to get the donut and the coffee, so I guess we'll be taking a little walk tomorrow.

I just read this out loud to my husband; he loves Dunkin Doughnuts coffee. We don't have cable so I haven't seen the commercial.
He is all excited now so I know that we will be visiting one of the hundred surrounding Dunkin Doughnuts on April 15th.

Thanks for the info! My waistline needs a donut like my head needs another hole in it, but if its free I'm there! I kinda like the coffee anyway, so I guess I will postpone my diet (yet again) for the donut. I hope they have the blueberry ones!

I heard about that. I wish I could eat their donuts, they don't agree with me. I may drive by to see if there is a line though.
