In light of the recent cheerleader beating, and all other student on student or student on teacher violence that has been broadcast via youtube, the media, myspace.. etc.. I think it SHOULD be brought back. Students are under the impression that they can do whatever they want and get away with it with nothing more than a 1 day suspension or in school suspension or something of the like .. a very lax punishment for some of the more serious offenses. Some kids have no respect for authority, no morals, no conscience, no regard for human life, no remorse for the bad things they have done. They think its great to post beatings or other horrible crimes on-line. If the parents don't care what their kids do... SOMEONE has to. I think a good paddling to these students will make them think twice before they do something of that nature again. I know some of you may back with the revenge factor... students coming back to kill those for punishing them. But again.. that reaction all stems back from lack of previous discipline and everything that I mentioned above. Something HAS to be done soon. If we teach these kids there are severe consequences for their actions.. it might help calm them down and future generations might be civil I know some of you might disagree, and that is fine, just please keep your disagreements civil.
