I get a lot of e-mail, mostly from family and rarely from close friends. My close friends usually call me on the cell phone or land line. My husband loves to e-mail and talk on the phone as well. He has a woman friend that he's been e-mailing to for quite some time. She lives in New Mexico....which is quite a distance from where we live. The last time he saw her was when he and his first wife were god-parents to this woman's little girl. He hasn't seen her now for probably 25 years. In the meantime this woman lost her husband. She writes to my husband a lot. It shouldn't bother me, but it does. I would never e-mail a single male friend ever as I would not want to cause complications in my marriage. Should this bother me? Does it ever bother anyone else? Curious minds want to know.

Does he allow you to read what he writes and what she writes back? As long as he is being honest and upfront and not hiding anything then I would say you have nothing to worry about, it is only when they become secretive that I think you need worry. It is ok for them to be friends as long as he is honest about it with you

His e-mail is an open book...he says I can read it anytime I want. I guess I'm just concerned since my first husband ended up cheating on my with a good friend of mine all the while he was saying that they were 'just friends'. My new philosphy when dealing with people is 'trust, but verify'. I trust my husband and haven't seen anything weird in his e-mail. I know I could never e-mail a single male friend.
