Is it healthy to crack your knuckles?

I seem to crack mine all the time but I am always told by my family that you shouldnt do it. I would like to know from people other than my family if it is ok to do it? Even if I dont purpously crack my knuckles they will probably crack by accident so either way they are gonna crack if I do it or not.
