I think there was another discussion similar to this one not too long ago that said that you get more money posting new discussions. I will see what everyone else says.

I also meant to say that I spend the majority of my time responding to my friends' discussions. In fact I have so many to do that I don't have time to start my own! I like responding so I don't mind if I earn less doing it this way. As long as we are happy in what we are doing that is all that matters to me.

I start discussions and post responses, Quality gets you the money, I would think that a Quality discussion will get you more than 1 quality post. But if you have noone in your friends list or just no one responds to them then a post would get you more. I could be wrong but that's my understanding. Good luck happy posting!

Just wanted to add that if all you did was start discussions people probably would stop responding because you do not respond to them in theirs so I think both are needed again good luck ^^

I try to do a bit of both, but mostly I respond to discussions, as I find it hard sometimes coming up with my own. Only when something happens in my life then I post it. Otherwise it's mostly responding :)

I have always responded to discussions more than I have started them, and responding is the bulk of my earnings. But that isn't the reason why I do it. I respond more than I start discussions because I want to make sure that I can start good discussions. I want my discussions to have meaning, not just be some trivial question like "Do you like coffee?" or something to that effects. I take my time, and when I feel I have a good discussion in mind, then I start one.

I make a response more then, posting a discussion. Some people though come up with a whole page of discussion topics, to where they litterally have every topic on the first page of a interest as a discussion they started. I would rather respond most of the time, since it seems to me to be a bit quicker then starting discussions.

I respond more than making discussions up.It's not that I can't think of them.I can think of about ten right now.The hard part is knowing what people like.It seems to very alot. With the ernings I have no idea how that works..If anyone finds out let me know..

I hardly start new discussions. The last time i starte a new discussion was in the previous week and i am still struggling to respond back to people who posted a response on my discussion. The list has crossed 50 and i am still commnting on the 28th one. but anyway, i struggle to find new ideas to start a new discussion. Moreover i like to be free to start a new discussion so i can easily comment on the responses else starting a new discussion has no worth.
So most of the time when i log into mylot i tend to respond to discussions rather than starting a new discussion. Starting a discussion adds more to your earning only when you comment upon the responses else it is similar to your one normal post. Howver i dont spend too much time here at mylot. I hardly put on 5-6 responses in a day.

I tend to respond to other discussions a lot more than I post my own, this is because I find it more interesting to do that. I like to try and help people out or have a laugh with them on their discussions. As to which earns more I have not got a clue, but if you find out then let me know!!!
