Interesting question! Alexander Graham Bell made the first telephone call when he called his assitant for the first time. His words were 'Watson, come here, I want you' - which was about 125 years ago. So when you ask, who was the first person to make a call in the world, I'm assuming you mean telephone call. Alexander Graham Bell had worked on this for quite a while. His assistants name was Thomas Watson. Thomas Watson worked just down the hall from Bell when he got the call.

You might want to clarify what you mean by 'first call'? Telephone? Cell phone?
