I sympathize with Ruthep. I have Ruth as one of my names too and it's from my mother. People who call me Ruth are usually just acquaintances, they call me other names when we become close. But I find "Ruth" cool. I mean the greatest baseball player that ever lived is named Babe Ruth right? Besides, it's a meaningful name because it means friend, companion, and compassion. :D

My name is Cathryn (after my maternal g-mother) Jane (after my paternal g-mother). when i was younger i hated the name Jane(my siblings said they named me that because i was ugly) and would tell people that my middle name was Jan. However as i got older and relized that i was named after two very smart, wonderful and beautiful women i relized how lucky i was! My G-mother Jane was one of the first female welders at a shipyard in the 40's so not only was she smart and beautiful she was ahead of her time.So nope i would never change my name,to me it is perfect,besides G-mother Jane is the one that named me and she thought i was worthy of their names-and if that not a compliment i don't know what would be!

My name is Katharine Louise. I really like my given name, I never used to, and I used to hate the spelling too, as everyone spells it incorrectly (Katherine, Catherine, Kathryn etc.) but I actually LOVE the spelling my parents chose. It's closest to the original Greek from which the name comes from. I like the name Louise, but it's a VERY common middle name in girls my age in the UK!! I wouldn't want to change my name, I think it suits me (although I'm not known as Katharine to most people; my friends call me Kat) but I have often thought I should be called Holly, as my birthday is on Christmas Day!! hehe.

When i think about the name Grace i think of a ballet,An egal soring in the sky with his wings spread wide, a pefectly executed waltz,a swan floating on a crystal clear blue lake,the leaves dancing in a gentle breeze. All of the things i've mentioned above (and a lot that i haven't ) have two things in common beauty and....GRACE!

I am English but my first and last names are both Polish. When I was younger I insisted that friends called me by a nickname, but now I'd rather it wasn't shortened and enjoy the looks I get when an English looking and sounding girl gives out a long tongue twister of a name. I wouldn't change it, and because it is both my first and last names that are Polish, I'm not even sure if I'd change my last name when I was married because I might sound odd with a classically English surname. I think my name's pretty, and what is doubly good is that it means 'God's gift' lol.

If I could change my name it would be to Freya, I dont know why I just think that its a lovely name, it means noble too which I think would be a great thing to say at job interviews to help along a bit, lol.
