Do you accept the fact that your partner is a slob?

My ex is staying with me and has never been the neatest person I know but I always dealt with it and do so even more now that he is recuperating from heart surgery. Of course he's always asking me if there is anything he can do but as always I say no...basically because I would rather have it done the right way...MY WAY.... How do you handle living with a messy person? Do you follow behind them cleaning up or do you just leave the mess for them?

i think its difficult to always be in really good term with a messy person. but as he is not well now its ok. i must say you have lots of patients to deal with him.hats off to you.

I accept it to an extent. I mean I know before he was a clean neat freak. I mean it wasn't a bad freak, like real obsessive but he was clean enough for me. He doesn't like to close his drawers after he takes his clothes out, in which I always remind him so that maybe one day he will get used to it. I used to close them for him but I changed my mind, he can handle it himself. He also like to leave his clothes on the floor and after he shaves he doesn't like to clean the sink. I'm constantly having to remind him because I won't do it myself. He needs to learn to be clean again or at least the way he was when I first met him.
