Thinking about the last time you made Chicken

How did you prepare it? Did you use a whole chicken or specific parts of a chicken? Was this a new recipe or a tried and true one? If it was new - how did the family receive it? Do you expect to keep it in your repertoire of dishes that you will cook again and again?

I had chicken sandwiches today. We bought a ready cooked chicken from Safeway and I made sandwiches this afternoon. I don't really do much with chicken other than make chicken soup with rice, noodles and veges and a few other dishes.

I made my chicken just last Sunday. It was what we call here "Chicken-Pork Adobo" or CPA for short. I use the whole chicken (1.5 kilos) and a kilo of pork and half a kilo of chicken liver for the sauce. It's a favorite here in the Philippines and of course the family loves it especially with salted eggs and tomatoes as side dish. There are many ways of preparing adobo so that no matter how often you serve it, you will not get tired of eating eat.

thank you so much for including your recipe for authentic C.P.A.! I also like the idea of side dish... to compliment the meal.

Modestah, the last time i cooked chicken it was boneless, skinless chicken thighs. I sliced portabella mushrooms, onions, and zucchini into a backing dish that I had sprayed with olive oil cooking spray, seasoned with fresh ground pepper, emeril's essence and a can of mushroom soup and baked it in the oven at 350 for about an hour. I served it with stove top stuffing and broccoli florets. And yes hon my family loves any type of chicken cooked like this.

mmm that sounds wonderful - I wonder how it would be adding some diced up tomatoes too. I love zucchini, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes together.

Modestah, it would be perfectly wonderful, this is something you can add what you want and take away what you don't like. I add what ever happens to be in the fridge or cupboards.

I bought chicken thighs and made baked chicken two nights ago. I had previously purchased some Shake N Bake, so I coated it in that, and baked it. I was the only one I cooked for, and I do have to say I loved it. I am very proud of my cook.

I have to make chicken nuggest tonight for my grand daughters tomorrow. I use boneless, skinless, chicken bre*sts and slice in nugget size. Do the dredge routine and deep fry. Then freeze and later reheat in toaster over. They love it! Beats mcD's that uses partial fish parts in their chicken nuggets!

ruby! the house must have had an incredible aroma - of home cooking that day! Roast potatoes, mmmm. my last chicken was also a whole chicken - we call it paprika chicken, but not likely how paprika is truly supposed to be made. I learned how to make it from a nursing school buddy back before I got married. I prefer to skin the chicken first, though my friend does not. Rub butter on the chicken, salt and pepper the inside - rub on a mix of poultry season, garlic powder and paprika and bake @ 350* till done - we usually will do roast potatoes along side as well - if not, mashed potatoes get a runner up. I was out of potatoes the last time so made stuffing. We had fresh carrots as a side - cooked whole... long and slender, they were so sweet.

Hi..now that sounds really really good Modestah!!!! I must just tell you how a friend of mine cook her chicken... She heats a pan of oil...then after seasoning the chicken...she dips half of the chicken in...and frys it...then she keeps turning it in the oil....until its all crispy....checking regularly to see that the inside is cooked.... Calorie ways it must be laden!!!!...but gosh it tastes delicious......

I made chicken and rice. I ate it by myself but my kids used to love it. It will probably be a while before I make it again. I have three containers of left overs in the freezer so I have a good supply of it.

The last time I cooked chicken was Friday. On Thursday I had cooked some chicken thighs on the grill and we had some leftover. I used it and a box mix to make garlic chicken. It turned out really good and there was none leftover after dinner, so I am guessing that the family liked it. I will probably make it again sometime, but not often seeing as it was a box mix which I do not use very often.

I am actually going to make chicken tonight for dinner. I plan to make chicken curry. I use bonelss, skinless, chicken thighs. I cut them up and then brown them in some olive oil with a little sesame oil, soy sauce and ginger. I add any frozen mixed veggies I have and/or cut up fresh veggies I have. I stir fry the veggies till they start to get a little soft and then add a can or two of diced stewed tomatoes. Heat that till it starts to simmer and add curry powder to taste. I add alot. Some optional additions are slivered almonds and rasins or pieces of apple. The spice in the curry and the sweetness of the rasins and apples go really well together. I serve it over rice with some flat bread or tortillas.
