i just found my grandmothers necklace with the ceramic beads,it is probably 80 years + old,it was in my jewelry box and it would have to be the most treasured heirloom i have. it made me think what will i give my children when i pass away.do you have any treasured heirlooms, and what are you passing on to your children.cheers sue

I have my grandmother's ring, it is not really an heirloom per se , maybe 35 years old but I will not part with it for all the money in the world. It is the only thing I have left of my grandmother.

When we made this last move, I asked my kids what they would want from the house and had them take it with them. I do have some jewelry from my grandmother that I will pass on to my daughter I'm sure. Nothing the least bit expensive, but it's unusual enough that I think she'll want it.

yes it is nice to be able to pas on something even if it is not expensive, its the sentimental value that means the most,or as you say the unusual that they will treasure.cheers sue
