I love Hairspray!! everytime when i feel down, sure i'll on the movie and "Shake Shake Shake" together with the actors and actresses inside. The movie is full of joyful, chiming, splashy, and even i sit on sofa or floor, after sometimes my body will start to move and get into the GROOVE!!

Isn't it fantastic? I have the DVD & have watched it heaps! My kids all love it, too, especially my girls who go gaga over Zac Effron, lol. We all know the songs by heart so sing along. I also like the messages in the movie - racism & body image. It's good for the kids.

My youngest (Lauren) has been teased as she has a bit of extra weight on her (I don't think she's overweight, just cuddly) so watching Hairspray was great for her. Lauren is such a sweet girl, with a very caring nature about her. I tell her that's the most important thing.
I've also always taught my kids not to judge others. They've been taught we are all the same, we are all people, it does not matter about a persons size, race, colour, etc. My kids are now like me - they will befriend anyone!

I think it was sweet... esspecially the song I can hear the bells lol. It's nice how the 'best looking guy in town' goes for a 'fat/ugly' girl!

My 19 year old daughter hasn't long brought the dvd of Hairspray and we watched it as a family film. It was a very good film and I loved John T dressed up as a woman. My girl/boy twins loved it so much that when we went to visit our daughter in her shared house they asked to watch it and we weren't allowed to leave until the film had finished.
I think when I next go shopping to the dvd shop I shall have to be buying it for them.
I knew they would love it as they love to watch Grease.
It is a very happy sing song film but it also puts across the reason for change.

The movie is fun, but IMHO, the stage version is way better.
