We saw this story as a tv series many years ago where Ralph as played by Richard Chamberlain. My wife was enthralled by it and many years later bought a copy of the book. She thought the book was better than the film. Ralph did make huge sacrifices for the sake of his beliefs, but in the end Iguess that's a personal decision and not everybody would have that strength. Or is it weakness? Such a personal thing but a story brilliantly told.
