I just finished watching the new Hell's Kitchen. I was kind of shocked when Christina didn't nominate Kary, but Vanessa did really screw up. What's with the crying, though? The name of the show is Hell's Kitchen, you'd think these people would be tough. Yeah, Ramsey is specific about what he wants, but it's the same in any profession. To make it to the top you have to learn your craft and perfect it. Oh well, just my own personal opinion.

i know this post is almost a week old but i cant help but reply. i just watched it twice coz my sister who is a culinary student in finland told me how much she loves chef ramsey (opposing my like of jamie oliver, hehe) so i have to give this show a shot. yes the title itself proves what it is like inside the kitchen. the chefs are pretty intimidated to ramsey knowing some of them already make their own name. oh well, i guess they have to prove that they deserve such name. my sis told me that one of her prof (chef) works with chef ramsey and he is very different than the show EXCEPT of course that he is very knowledgeable about food and restaurateurs. btw, i agree with you that for you to make it to the top you have to be the toughest, perfected your craft and learn it in many ways. takecare!

No, I have never been. I'm more of a barbeque shack downtown kind of person. I just really enjoy watching the show. It is very entertaining.

I love Hell's Kitchen. Funny thing though, I can't stand to cook. What gets me the most is that the majority of your Hell's Kitchen contestants are cooks of one variety or another. And yet they have trouble cooking basic meats? When you really look at it, that is extremely scary. How many other cooks out there are just as terrible in cooking as these folks? Despite who wins this season's Hell's Kitchen, I feel none of them are qualified to run, or be an employee, of any of Chef Ramsey's restaurants.

I'm with you on that point. To me neither of them stands out as being particularly good or qualified. I don't understand how they could have such a problem cutting a chicken and cooking a steak. I don't cook at all, but I've worked in restaurant and know how to cut a chicken. And I certainly know the difference between medium well and medium rare. Steak and chicken are staples in American cuisine. It is kind of scary.
