I've just listened to these bands recently. I have never came across them intill I went on my favourite bands myspace page and they said they sound like the groups. I think the band (there name is Bleak from Finland) sound is grunge and that's why they are compared to those bands.. Bleak is an awesome band if you like Alice in Chains or Pearl Jam check these guys out they are good!! If you do tell me what you think about them!! www.myspace.com/bleakmusic

I think the last way I would describe Pearl Jam or Alice in Chains is "grunge." I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan, and I listen to Alice in Chains from time to time. By the way, one of Pearl Jam's best songs is Jeremy [Album: Ten; Number: 6].

I'm from the Seattle area, the birthplace of grunge, so I am a huge fan. Nirvana was my first love in the scene, and it hurt so much to lose Kurt Cobain and have the band dissolve. And I love Alice... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFWkPVHKwCY Even though Layne Staley, owner of that tremendous voice, is gone as well, the group is continuing to record with a new lead singer who is said to be quite good. Pearl Jam is just fantastic. I love 'Black'... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6X8Ic86Hx3w Eddie Vetter has been doing some solo work in our area, but the band is still together and touring. I'm checking out Bleak right now, 'What You Are'... and I'm liking it! One thing for sure... there's never too much emo! Thanks for the tip.

I adore these two bands! They have such an influence on me. Both Eddie Vedder and Layne Staley are rock legends. Too bad Layne is no longer with us. My favorite albums from the two are Vs. from PJ and Dirt from AiC. Classics.

I'll definatly go look up Bleak. For your own benefit, Alice in Chains' new album isn't exacly their best so.... stick to their old stuff. Pearl Jam is releasing some great new songs, though, so it's great to know that they've still got it. I'm glad that you heard of there awesome bands!!
