Can anyone offer how to get gasoline---mid-grade out of clothes? Gas splashed on a cooton shirt, and after 2 washings, it still remains!!

I would try soaking overnight in a sink or tub with a shampoo mixed in the water. Shampoo is meant cut out proteins and oils like the ones we get on our skin. after that I would make a paste of baking soda and water and let that sit for a 1/2 hour and that should pull the smell out of the material. One thing you need to be careful of is washing anything in your washer that is combustible, that could be dangerous. Usually it says it in your owner's manual. It could make your washer combustible...i would wipe it out with water to make sure this in no residue that could get on other clothes.

Maybe it's the soap your using. Try "ERA". That seems to be the miracle soap of the century. I keep some in a spray bottle too. It has taken out old stains as well as blood.
