Windows XP SP2 and Vista has built-in firewall used to block threats from the Internet. I have also noticed that majority of anti-virus software vendors also developed thier own firewall software which they claim to be much better than the one developed by Microsoft. I believe that some of you guys has tried more than one commercial firewall product and I would like to know which one is the best. Thanks!

The best firewall for me is ZoneAlarm. zonealarm can effectively protect your PC from hackers and other threats, I've used a lot of firewalls but ZA proves to be the best. Good thing about this firewall is that ZoneAlarm is free for individual use. It's an easy to use firewall protection program that blocks hackers and other unknown threats. Also, it makes your system completely invisible to anyone on the Internet. I have personally used ZoneAlarm for years with no issues. It gives you the chance to accept inbound communications or turn them away and you can setup a list of programs that need to access the Internet that are listed as "ok". Zonealarm is very to use. It's not complicated to run, but still keeps out dangerous threats.

For a long time now I am using NOD 32 and I feel that this security suit is very good and efficient. It is very easy to use. The scanner works very fast. It has regular updates so you can the Congress tension free about the new virus threats. It is a very fast and well equipped firewall which never gives any problem and works on a computer pretty well unstuck all in all I feel it is a very good choice

I'm not yet into Vista so I cannot comment on it, but for XP, I find its built-in firewall limited like I have none at all. So I disabled it and download this "PC Tools Firewall Plus", its free, it prompts me whether I will allow or deny any outgoing or incoming access and it has a cute traffic monitor in the taskbar. I've been using this for more than a year now along with my free anti-virus and I never had any related problem with it.
