japaneese anime, because western 'anime' is not 'anime' It's called graphic novels... so ya, if you like 'anime' you're liking japaneese animation novels

Er, slight correction here; anime = cartoon manga = graphic novel

Animes from Japan are the original while animes from the west are just 'imitation' of the animes from Japan. Don't get me wrong, what I mean is that anime started in Japan, so technically, the people from the west just 'copied' the style (which is anime) and made a one of their own. I think Avatar: The Last Airbender is an example of an anime from the west. So, this means that animes that came from Japan are better because the producers are more experienced in that area.

definitely japan anime, because the illustrations are more detailed that gives the unique looks and impressions with every characters, and the story plots are great too.

Anime... or cartoons... anime... or cartoons. So long as it is GOOD, I don't care where it came from. I'm not going to shun an excellent piece of story telling (or comedy or horror or whatever) just because it's not from Japan. That would be childish. Along the same lines, I'm not going to declare every single piece of entertainment that comes out of Japan as being amazing. They can produce rubbish too. Currently Japanese entertainment is outstripping American, in my fields of taste anyway. However, 15 years ago the Americans were doing much better. They fell behind the Japanese though, putting profit before style (Cartoon Network and Disney are, in my opinion, the worst companies for doing this). However, American companies are seeing their profit margins die off as people turn down their tired, old garbage for the fresh and interesting stuff from the east. This is why they are 'copying' the artistic and animation styles... but they are not seeing that people don't watch anime just for the style (which they copy very poorly). However, those of us who grew up on good animation, both western and eastern, are coming of age and moving into the employment of these companies, or starting our own. People are now bringing the things they want to see, the things they miss from their childhood favourites, into the world of western animation. A great conglomerate of the best of the old, the western and the eastern will soon be being produced. We are already seeing western money being used to produce eastern shows and films... the transition has begun. Way to go prophetic and bizarre, Shard. Silence, you!

Japanese anime is the only anime. Any others are just imitations or "comic book" cartoons.

Hmm, in my opinion, I think anime is better than western cartoon. Well, for one thing, the drawing/graphics of an anime is really good, and also I like the story plot of anime than the cartoons. More entertaining and fascinating.

Of course anime from Japan is the best. They made it of course. Western "fraud" anime doesn't even come close to the quality of japanese anime. Better characters, stories, action, animation and music - the Japanese are kings of it. To them its more than a business, its culture. The only Western anime ripoff I've seen that was good was Teen Titans but its still doesn't do a good job of imitating anime. Bottom line, the predecessor is always the better.
