You are going to leave your entire fortune to charity.

How would you feel if a vast fortune that was maybe meant to be left in a will to you,was instead all left to charity?? Would you mind too much??

I suspect that there would be a measure of disappointment. But really, if so many more people could benefit then why not. I have my chance along with everybody else to make money. It is only money. That buys things, but not happiness. Let 'em have it. Just as I was saving up to go to Derbyshire too.

Oh I had that "What would you like" question on my birthday last month. Simple answer. Time. Stop and say hello. That's enough for me. I have plenty of material things. What I really treasure is family and my friends and the fact that they love me enough to spend time with me.

I think the fact we have to grasp Piky...is....its wonderful if you have enough to cover your day to day living costs..even better if you have a little left over to play with. But then after that we just go into the `want want want` mode... Like many of us I can go from one day to another without opening my purse...and talking of purses ..I opened mine and found some money in it which I didnt realise I had!!!.....If someone asked you what you would like to be bought as a gift..i for one would have to think long and hard... We expect too much from life,an therefore when life doesn`t come up trumps, the disappointment sets in. Oh blimey..lol..im getting carried away here!!!...on my soap box!! PS..if there should be anything left when I depart this mortal coil...im leaving it to the local dogs home...truly truly ..mans best friend ... PPS...but there really won`t be much left...

Yes...if we have to stop and really think what we would like ..in all probability the answer is nothing!!!!

It's the person who is writing the Will's money. No one is "entitled" to that money. The person can leave it to whoever they want.

I think thats very true Rosetta....they can do what they wish to do with their fortune...I wonder how many will disagree with us though

Quite a few, I'll bet. Somehow people believe that if other people made a lot of money, the first people have a "right" to that money. The other people should manage it in such a way as to leave a lot to them.

Well I haven't any huge fortune due to come my way so I suppose it's not soemthing that's ever likely to happen to me! If it came as a bolt out of the blue I have to say I'd be pretty miffed, particularly if I'd been mentally earmarking the cash for a project or two. I imagine a fortune coming to me would only be likely to come from a close relative, and I like to think that I know them well enough to have an inkling as to any plans about inheritance. It's all conjecture though. There's no huge fortunes in my family that I know of :-(

Yes dear Moo..its all pie in the sky talk really!!!.... I dont think that i would mind very much at all as long as the pennies were put to good use!!..and thats being totally honest...my children have more than i have had in my entire life!!...yes they have worked hard to get it too...but im amazed at the amount that slips through their fingers.... As for us here...we have everything we need..in reality probably a little more than we need...in terms of comfort etc...and we count ourselves very very lucky..
