My cat just bit me on the arm! Not hard enough to break the skin or anything, but just enough to let me know he has been in the house for 20 minutes and has not been fed. Does your pet ever give you any friendly reminders that it needs some attention?

Cats do bite to show affection, but just to biting point,no jaw pressure..My cat can also go from resting to psycho kitty in nothing flat..Try to pet him when He's not in the mood for it,and He'll pounce on my arm with all claws out and try sinking his teeth in my hand...then other times (like now) I'm on here, and he's snuggled up between my leg and the side of the armchair, head on my hip,4 paws in the air and the brush of a tail draping to the floor..

In spite of their occasional tantrums they are really adorable and loving most of the time. It's no wonder we're such suckers for their antics.

LOL Our cats give love nibbles like that either when play fighting or grooming us.

Playful biting is part of the thing that endears cats to me. It's something to be expected by a cat owner, and can be quite endearing even though their teeth are sharp.

My wife and I have 4 cats. One of them is dumb enough to do this friendly bite stuff to get attention. We've tried tapping her on the nose to give a friendly hint not to do it, but it does not help. So, we've learned to live with it.

I guess it's just their nature to bite. When I watch 2 cats play it looks as if they'd kill one another, but they are just having fun with all that biting and clawing.

Moomin, my mad moggie, has several ways to attract my attention. Usually it begins with him jumping on my desk and sitting on the keyboard, a pretty good indication that he wants to be noticed. He will also sit under the desk and nibble at my toes, generally when he wants feeding. He will happily purr into my ear in the mornings, telling me to get out of bed too.

Sounds like Moomin has you trained pretty well. My cat also likes to sit on top of my keyboard or on top of the books I am trying to read.

My cats don't bite me to get attention but they sure do cry alot when they are hungry or need attention. I do have one male cat that will bite me if I am playing with him. I have been told that cats sometimes will bite cause they think you are their friend and that is what they do. Strange. I know they swat at me in fun but I really don't like the biting idea. But if your cat didn't break the skin, that is fine. And these cats sure do demand attention. And whatever they want, they want it right now. So as you know, the cats do rule the house.

My kitty doesn't usually bite me unless I am playing rough with him, but he sure knows how to get attention when he is feeling neglected. He can be real impatient when he's hungry.

My kitties like to bite on you when they are playing they don't bite hard but there teeth are still sharp. They haven't bite because they wanted something yet though. I suppose they will start though.

Biting is a part of their natural play.
