Hi there joespez! RnB and dancable music always makes me feel better whenever I feel down or lacking energy to do things. Metal songs, especially ones with dark topics makes me feel down.

I'd go with the Beats per minute count the faster it is,the less likely it is to be a Sad song..

For me I like anything with a nice beat and good instruments. makes me happy. I like drums and guitars and pianos etc I don't care as much for wind instruments. I think country jazz and blues get me sad. Oh and also music with bad lyrics make me either sad and or frustrated or angry. I normally listen to all kinds of music and randomly too, it tends to keep my mood the same as when I started listening, and maybe a little more relaxed.

well .... the happiness or sadness of a song MOSTLY depends on your mood ...... YES there are purely SAD songs as well ... and song that u wud prefer to listen when you are happy ...... according to the SCIENTIFIC view ...... people hear sad song when they are down and out ..... SO most of the SAD SONGS are very slow .... have very LOW/MEDIUM bass ....the singer is almost 100% audible so that u can really get into the atmoshphere ..... on the other hand ... happy SONGS/PARTY songs ..... they comprise of very loud and HIGH BASS ..... u must be know that in the clubs noone cares to know what the artist is saying ..... everyone want to get PUMPED UP(faster heartbeats) rock and roll and get high ! i wud really like to know if that was any use to ur son or not!
