first off, is she getting married in a church or at the justice of the peace, because she has to make an appointment with the church, if she is catholic she may have to take premarital courses, then is she having her reception at home or in a hall, halls have to be booked months in advance. how many people are going to be at the reception and is she sending out cards to everyone of them those things too have to be planned in advance because she has to get all the addresses together and send out the cards I believe that is at least 60 days in advance of the set wedding date, and paying the priest or minister for the wedding some ask up front for a certain amount some expect you to give them sometime in an envelope. what is she going to serve at the wedding reception for food, does the hall provide it once she choices,if it is at home is she having it catered meaning she is ordering in like kentucky fried chicken or a real catering service, or are people going to cook, if so she has to decide who is going to bring what and that it will be enough for all the people attending,ex somebody has to bring the rice, some body or a few people cook the chicken and beef somebody else brings the rotis, other people the salades, are there going to be desserts, and snakes like little sandwiches to much on during the evening, is she buying the cake or is someone making it. Is there going to be licker there if so is it an open bar, do people have to pay for their drinks at the hall, is she having drinks at home. Wedding dress is it being make or bought, does the maid of honor and brides maids and flower girl, groom, best man, family of the bride etc have to wear special clothes if so she may send them to a special store so they all get the same thing. Flowers her bouquet and the corsage for the groom and father of the bride and groom and even the mothers. the DJ, those can get expensive, unless you have a friend that can do it. Limosine to rent after she gets back to from the church or is somebody driving her. decorations for the hall or place where she has her reception

I think the best thing you can do is to be always available for her. Preparing for a wedding is really a tedious job so she needs an extra hand to be able to do all the things that needs to be accomplished. Do what she asks you to do and help her in anyway. Preparing for a wedding is fun and enjoyable when you have friends who are always willing to help.
