In yet another case of the West giving in to the Islamic World France is ready to put Bridget Bardot in jail for expressing her self to her government in a private letter. http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20080415/wl_time/isbrigittebardotbashingislam She wrote the letter to protest the ritual slaughter of sheep by Muslims during a holy period. Some in France consider her as Islamophobia and have tried to silence her in the past for her feelings and thoughts. It seems that to get respect and beable to have freedom of speech you have to be willing to take to the streets killing and bombing people. In the US radical groups kill thousands on 9/11 and we have to now let emaums sue people who express concern over their actions that are similar to hijackers. We have to put special sinks in schools and public places so they can pray. We allow them to refuse to drive people who have service dogs, or who are carrying alcohol. We have public Charter schools teaching about Islam and having school lead prayer. They even have an after school program to teach Islam to the students that if you don't want your child to attend you have to pick them up because the bus only run for the late program. And the Christian children can't sing Silent night in school because it might offend some one. Soon this topic will be not be allowed on My Lot and other chat groups as the thought police give into the radical islamist.

It is a shame so many of our rights are being take away because of Islam, but isn't thay what they do, after all.The countries that are Islamic governments completely deny people of their rights. It is a religion and a form of government and I don't understand why the democratic societies of the world are just stepping aside and letting them take over. It appears that Islamic jihad will not be necessary for them to take control of the world, which is their stated objective in the Koran. Why? Is it because, as Bardot said they are leading the world governments around by the nose because they control the oil of the world and we need it so badly? I can't figure this one out, but I hope the Bridget Bardots of the world will continue to try and wake people up about this.

France and now Great Britain is removing the teaching of the Holocaust from their education because it Offends the Muslims. If the Free Countries of the world would just tell them that if that is what they want then move to a Islamic Country. I don't think it is so much the Oil as the Liberal Global Government people want to keep everyone happy. The Muslims threaten to riot if you don't go along with them. Maybe it is time for Christian Nations to strike back in kind. How many Muslims were dragged out into the streets and killed after 9/11. How many captured Muslim have been dragged through the street after we capture them. How many have been beheaded. They complain because they have to be served food by a woman. How many Muslim Authors or Film producers have Christians ordered Killed. This a a war for Civilization and we better realize it and start fighting it that way.

I think your views are right on target. If the free world would mete out punishments to Muslim radicals and make the puhishments fit the crimes then maybe they would realize they can't hold the whole world hostage to their terrorist ways without consequences.

Punishing the radical is just part of the solution. Like the Terriorest of the 60s and 70s you have to eliminate the funding source. In the case of the old radicals of the 60s and 70s it was the Russiaons and their puppets. Now it is the Iranian Government and the religious leaders that need to also be reigned in and become part of the civilized world again.

Well, remember, there is a difference between Muslims and Muslim terrorists. Muslims are just average people like you and me, with different religious beliefs. I'd have to see the letter to judge how extreme this is. Obviously, a jail penalty is just ridiculous though. However, Islam-bashing is ridiculous too. But hey, she's free to say whatever she wants, racist or not. I do have to say though, she has the reputation of being a big xenophobe in France. As for the special sinks, haven't heard of those yet. It's natural to allow them to have public places to pray though, just like we have public places for Christians.

There is a link to the news article and it indicates that her problem is the slaughter of the sheep.

That's all, the slaughter of sheep, which is probably pretty bad but in some Islamic countries women and children are treated worse than sheep. I wonder what would happen to her if she stood up for womens rights?

I'll have to correct you on that one. In public schools Christians aren't really allowed public places to pray, only Muslims are. I personally was scolded in school once when me and a few friends were saying a prayer. The administrator told us we are free to be religious, but any form of group prayer is not allowed in school. There were four of us, it's not like we were running a church service.

They get federal funding for their private schools, they don't want to take their cover off their face for drivers license, they don't want to take them off during school sports. We have to reroute airplanes so they can pray, or throw temper tantrums. I heard now they want to have separate areas for women and men in our airports. They openly admit they want to blow Israel off the map, call them pigs and dogs. They protest in the streets about how much they hate the U.S., Israel and the entire West and many even openly say they plan to take over the world and force everyone to submit to Allah or die! They will never win though...

America was founded by people who were fed up with intolerance and wanted freedom. It seems that some Muslims don't want to become part of America instead they want America to change to suit them. They don't have to give up their religion they just have to accept other peoples right to worship as they please. I have a problem with someone who uses religion to justify killing others just as I have a problem with people using religion to justify why one race is superior to another. It is basic hatred and needs to be stopped. I think my religion is the correct one but I will not force others to believe as I do, they have the right to choose and that is what makes this country great.

As a Christian, if a church of satan were to start next to my house I wouldn't try to stop it unless, they tried to force me to convert or were hurting innocent people. I would probably move but I believe it is their right to worship whoever/however they choose.

Hi, I'm a Catholic and I'm living in Malaysia (An Islamic country). I respect other's religion including Muslim, Buddhist, Hinduism and so on because of their own beautiful belief. As far as I know, the true religion is focus on the same objective: To drive people to not harm anyone/To not to follow satan. But something that makes me feel unhappy is that, we (non-muslim) in a Muslim country, have limited space and time to do our own activities. Politics and Islam almost one. Prime Minister must be a Muslim....? And any non-Muslim, converts to Muslim will not allowed to convert to any other religion anymore, maybe can, but with a very small chances. Even a Muslim can't convert to any other religion. If someone really mad to convert, he/she will be treated as bad people. Is it fair? We have a law saying that "everyone is free to choose whatever religion he/she likes" but the real situation is different. I can give you one example, you may search about Lina Joy, even it Wikipedia!

Read it with your own eyes from a Catholic living in an Islamic country that is supposed to promote "freedom" of religion. Wake up America, this could be US if we don't do something now !Thank you for telling us about Lina Joy. Heres a story about her. http://www.boston.com/news/world/asia/articles/2007/05/30/malaysias_lina_joy_loses_islam_conversion_case/ Lol, notice we even have a smiley! Where is the Christian one? The Buddhist? Where's the fence?

You got that right. Have you noticed how much rights are taken away from one group and given to another? It sure is funny how these people can come into our country and kill thousands and yet get the privelages of their own sinks and rituals in public. Look out if you are wearing a cross or even mention the one and true savior Jesus Christ without getting spit on or some liberal sueing you for 'invading' their space. What do you think will happen next? Let's run some predications and see who gets it closer in tomorrow's news! :-)

Christian savior Jesus Christ* Ironically, Nicolas Sarkozy is not from the left wing, he's from France's right wing. :P

That is the word from me: Jesus Christ the one only Savior. If muslims can have their sinks I can share my Saviors name (and there isn't any additional plumbing required!). I have heard a German judge would not rule on a muslim divorce just because it was a 'religious' issue. What? Marriage is 'religious' issue in German. Oh, sorry, just the muslims ones are! Have you heard anything crazy like that too?

A religious issue? Can't say I have heard of that. I'd have to look more into that to even judge the situation though. :P

If anyone believes that Islam is a religion of peace just check out www.thereligionopeace.com. You don't know the half of it. If you check it right now you will see a bunch of palestinians, including many children, beheading a Giant Leatherback Sea Turtle that washed ashore in Gaza.

Well I wish I didn't learn about the turtle. That's just plain sad. If they had done that here in the US. they would be arrested. I guess it's ok to drag it with a car and torture endangered species because "it tastes good". I like this part of the site. It's all about Iraq, isn't it? Yep, it's all about Iraq and... India and the Sudan and Algeria and Afghanistan and New York and Pakistan and Israel and Russia and Chechnya and the Philippines and Indonesia and Nigeria and England and Thailand and Spain and Egypt and Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia and Ingushetia and Dagestan and Turkey and Kabardino-Balkaria and Morocco and Yemen and Lebanon and France and Uzbekistan and Gaza and Tunisia and Kosovo and Bosnia and Mauritania and Kenya and Eritrea and Syria and Somalia and California and Argentina and Kuwait and Virginia and Ethiopia and Iran and Jordan and United Arab Emirates and Louisiana and Texas and Tanzania and Germany and Australia and Pennsylvania and Belgium and Denmark and East Timor and Qatar and Maryland and Tajikistan and the Netherlands and Scotland and Chad and Canada and China and Nepal and the Maldives and... ...and pretty much wherever Muslims believe their religion tells them to: "Fight those who do not believe in Allah, ... nor follow the religion of truth... until they pay the tax in acknowledg-ment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection." Qur'an, Sura 9:29

You make a good point. The media tries to portray this as a problem between the US and Islam. But it is really a problem with Islam and The rest of the World.

The Muslim community wants everyone to tolerate their religious views, but why should we be tolerant of them, when they clearly are not tolerant of any of us, non-Muslims? The Muslims told everyone not to go to wikapedia.org to see a picture of Muhammed. Well, I went to wikapedia.org, and I saw that picture of Muhammed. He is no different from any other religious zealot/prophet/messiah out there. Oh, and I dare someone to come after me right now for saying that. I know my rights. You cannot do anything to me. These people have gone too far. If you all want to know why I hate religion, Muslims are pretty much part of that reason. Any religion that forces women to wear veils and cover themselves is no religion at all. Women should not be forced to do anything that they do not want to do. And prayer five times a day? That is insane. God will not strike you down if you only pray once a day or do not pray at all.

Well, I think the Muslims are losing. True, they are winning some battles as you have rightly pointed out. True, the Islamic thought police may even be active at forums like myLot. But the long story short is that these short term victories of the Muslims are only waking people up. On December 8, 1941, it looked like the Japanese were winning WWII. However, just as the Japanese lost, so will the Muslims.

In my opinion France is populated with ignorant, facist morons. Convicting Bardot for exercising her right to expression and opinion by calling it "racist", makes me sick. They laid down for Hitler and they are lying down for the Muslims. No wonder the world mocks them.
