I made some Candy Cane Toffee last night. I know it sounds weird, but it is really good. I made my regular toffee and mixed in some crushed candy cane and a little bit of peppermint oil. It is de-lish! Does it sound like something you would try? Or does it sound too weird to you?

It sounds yummy. Might be a good thing to melt down in a cup of coffee. When can I get some? My hubby has a sweet tooth. I think he'd eat a whole batch.

I will have to set some aside for you.

Yes. I certainly think I would give it a try. Exercising my imagination for a moment, I would think that spreading the toffee into a mold of a Christmas tree and using green food coloring in conjunction with white chocolate topping would probably make a great Christmas gift.

That does sound like it would be pretty cute. I will have to keep that in mind.

I have to say it sounds absolutely delicious to me. Peppermint is about the only sweet I eat, and normally only around Christmas time. Does the peppermint in it cut down the sweetness of the toffee? Or does it intensify it?

Well, I added chocolate to the top too, so it was pretty sweet still. I think it tastes less sweet with the peppermint in it than the regular stuff with the pecans.

You do have a creative mind. It really does sound good. and I wouldn't mind giving it a try. Is it hard to make toffee? Toffee is one of my favorite candies, and peppermint, mmm, I love to add it to a nice hot cup of tea (great for belly aches). Now I think of it, "Peppermint Toffee", it sounds like a hot cocoa mix. yummy

No, it is not really hard to make at all. You jus have to cook it and stir it almost constantly for about 10 minutes. I can make a batch in abot 15 minutes start to finish. I have been making and selling toffee for a few months now. I am actually doing fairly well.
