i did when my girls where younger. i helped out in the library and absolutely loved it. i was a shelf reader (that means i put returned books back on the shelves) and i was fortunate, i even took my daughter who wasnt in school yet. i volunteered on fri and that day was movie day in the kindergarten class (she was 3) and she got to go watch movies with them while i put books away...then i helped in her class while she was in kindergarten, then back to the library for several more years. i dont do it anymore because of my knees ( i cant stand for long periods of time), plus i work part time now, but i think it is important for kids to see that their parents care about them and their school. do you volunteer in your child's school?

I did it in my daughter's school. Though she was in the kindergarten, I helped the senior kids with their English and grammar and also helped them in their extra curricular activities. Being a student counsellor, I volunteered to help the kids in the high school to come out of their personal problems.

I volunteer a lot at my boys school.I am a room parent so I always have things to do.When my boys were in Kindergarten I did the different activities with the kids. And I also volunteer for different functions at the school like the book fair that I'll be doing on Thursday.I am very fortunate that I have the time to do this. Because I work at nights and my days are always free.
