vending machine is on the fritz

I put some monety in the vending machine downstairs this morning to get some drinks,but it must be on the fritz or something ,it didn't give a damn!This kind of situation happened before.Once I wanted to withdrew some cash on a ATM,I inputted my credit card,but it was on the fritz,my card was stuck in it.It was evening,I had to wait till the next morning to get my credit card back.
Has this ever happened to you ?This is really not good.

This is one of those things that makes me frustrated. We used to have a vending machine when I was at work and I'm certain it deliberately swallowed my money every time. The darned thing never worked properly.
