My kingdom OR a horse!!

I think this is a suitable phrase to describe how I'm feeling right now about my country. I love my country, I hate the government. I'm very aware of my country's potential resources, both natural and human. If run the right way, I dare say we can be a super power country like US, Japan or Europe. Maybe even more. We have all that other countries lack. The minerals, the plants, the herbs, the spices, the territory.. and even the brains. But unfortunately my country lacks one crucial element. Attitude. I admit that people here in my country maybe the most modest and friendliest a country can have. I think it's because we are basically down to earth and easy going by nature, but often I feel people here can be a too easy going and therefore lack PASSION, OBSESSION, DISCIPLINE. The governmental people here makes it all a lot worse. Sometimes I wonder if they even realize what a government is all about, it seems like they only act for their own interest. They say promising things and promote their elegant plans, but when it comes to it they do the exact opposite. People compete to be parliament members, thinking that running a country is as easy as running a horse (and I bet they can't even run a horse). It's frustrating!! Moving to another country often occurs, but then when I think of it I don't have the heart to abandon my country although there's nothing I can do to make it better. Should I run for president? Highly unlikely, I know my limits. Does anybody feel the same about their country?

If you get enough people to support you, you probably could run for president and win. You are very aware of what your country has to offer and what it could be. I think that the government is acting for their own interest. Most countries don't think of others and the USA is one of those countries. Our president doesn't think of this stupid war ending because people don't want it anymore. He just thinks that it's a good thing for himself. So he could look better. Maybe that's what they are trying to do too.

There are certain things about my country that bother me but this is home and there are plenty of good things that I wouldn't change. There is some racism here, lack of respect for elders, and mean spirited people but there is also a lot of good people here. I can't change my country but I can do my part to make it a better place. If everybody does that then things will start to change for the better.
