So who's tried Paul McKenna's method?

A little while ago I started seeing all of these ads on the TLC channel about this guy Paul McKenna, who will help you lose weight. I did a little research and found that he had written quite a few books. I purchased his book "I can make you thin" and have been watching his show on TLC for the last several weeks. I get his methods and I think that they might work. Has anyone had any success using his ideas?

I haven't tried it, but here is why: I read the stuff on the TLC website and watched most of the shows and they all didn't apply to me. I am not really over weight, I already eat consciously (eat slowly, only eat small portions, chew my food, etc) and I am not an emotional eater. I was hoping I would find a few helpful tips in there.

I have tried the book, and listened to the CD that comes with it. I don't think the book helped me to lose weight, but it did educate me regarding certain eating behaviour (ie, not eating when you're starving so one eats the entire contents of the fridge and trying to eat before you let yourself get that hungry) and I found it very illuminating! Even though it wasn't a magic cure as I had hoped (but what is?) I did find the CD relaxing and the information worth the money I had payed.

I agree with you about the cd, it's very relaxing to use before bed. I find that I am now aware of why I'm binging and can recognize why, but...that doesn't stop me.

My husband has read the book and tried the methods and says that it is the only thing that he is prepared to try and that it works for him. however, it is a long time since he did it and is heavier now than he has ever been. I cannot do it because I have low blood sugar and if I only ate when I was hungry I would either be eating constantly or never and my blood sugar would be all over the place.
