I have a Calico cat. That scratches herself raw in places. The vet gives her a shot once a month,it helps some.He says it would help to declaw her,in the back feet.I do not believe in this, but we can not control her condition. What would you do Cat Lovers?I keep her in the house she is well cared for,she is one of my babies and I hate to see her suffer with this.

any vet can prescribe it for you,it's not over the counter.if he doesn't have it in stock you can get a script from him and order it here: http://www.1800petmeds.com/Revolution-prod10265.html

I also have a calico cat, Waffles, that I love dearly. If I were you, I would seriously consult with another vet for another opinion regarding treatment. Getting another opinion is something that I should have done a few years ago when the vet I was going to diagnosed one of my cats as having pink eye. The cat really had a tumor behind her left eye. Also, I would never declaw any of my cats. My Waffles still has all of her claws and if she scratches, she's probably scratching a flea. Best for you to get another opinion and spare your fur baby unneeded pain and stress.

Scribe my cat may have a tumor or mass behind his eye. He is 16 years old and they want to do a biopsy. I am torn on doing that - because he is frail and I fear if it is bad - he will only get worse quicker. Can you tell me more about your cats tumor. My cat has pressure behind the eye so his left eye is protuding and he can't shut it. His third eyelid is also showing. you could email me at twizzlerbb@gmail.com Thanks L

I had a cat with the same condition. Its similar to dandruff and itchy scalp. Poor thing scratched her backside until she had no fur right before her tail. What I did, although she hated it, was to bathe her every 2-3 days with Head and Shoulders, being careful not to get it in her eyes. Soon the spot healed and it was no longer itchy. I know your cat will hate it too, but in the end she will be grateful.
