With which finger do you indicate?

I use my index finger which is your second from your thumb. I have seen some people indicate with their middle finger the one after the middle finger and it irritates me, I always tell my dad, your index finger is called index for a reason.

i indicate using my all fingers with open palm. i think that is the most polite way to indicate. i read a book about body language, and they teach the same thing.
