I have always heard this old saying that "The grass is always greener on the other side" Do you feel this way?I think that we should be happy with what we have. And be content in what ever situation we may be in. How do you feel about this?

I think for the most part, people always covet what others have, and then when they finally found a way to get what they think they want, they realize they really don't want it at all. Sometimes, what you think you want, and what you really want and need are not the same things. Some people are just never happy with what they've got and constantly change it, but sometimes some people get what they want, hate it and then decide it's not worth it and go back to what they had before.

That is very well said. what we think we want is not always what we really want or need in the long run..

I will have to agree and disagree at the same time on this one with ya. I have hear the saying "the grass is always greener on the other side" At some point in time in everyones life they are going to feel this way. Maybe they didnt get the job promotion they were hoping for or things just havent been going right for them.
I think people should be happy for what they have, I know I am. I may not have a whole lot, but I am happy for what I do have. Now, the part that I dont agree with is the being content in any situation you are in. I am happy for the most part, but there are certain times when you shouldnt be content about things. Like now, my husband and I are fighting a lot. It came to the point where we about split up and he wasnt going to allow me to have our son. Certain situations just arent very good.

Well you are right about certain situations we should not be content with.As you said if your marriage is not working out, You may have to decide to end the marriage. But Unless you are an unfit mother, there is no way he would very get your son from you. You will have to fight for him..

Yes I have heard of the saying and have used it many times lol.
I am very content with what i have and am thankfull for it all, Unfortunatly as humans i think we always have the longing for something better, something we maybe cannot have etc and this is what seems to drive us into getting this. There are things I would like but would not risk all i have to try and get them.

I have always heard this saying as well. But from personal experience when I get to the other side it is not always as good as it seemed. I just try to be thankful and satisfied for what I have.
