Making money playing video games?

I'm not sure if anyone has started a discussion about this before me but I had to just make a new one again because I am seeing more sites where it states that you could make money from playing games.
So I figure that I'd ask all the gamers out there this question so that I could verify it before wasting my time & money lol I mean is it that really simple? I have read on some sites that people really do so I don't know maybe that's all scams. Anyone?

I have actually come across a site that pays you if u play it. i dont remember the site but i remember that it was a browser based RPG game. I signed up and played for a day but it was so boring that i quit playing on the first day.

most of the stuff online where you win money playing games requires a subscription...and most of the time the real prizes are made through drawings that you enter with points.
i havent found one yet that was truthful

yes i am making money for a video game called runescape..i wana buy a membership it cost 5 dollar a month

Its mostly bull and they steal your money, accounts, items, ect. But some are legit. I used www.RsSale.tk to sell runescape accounts and they are legit.
